| About | The Pineapple is located in a quiet walled garden with beautiful flowers and plants typical of a countryside estate. The earl of Dunmore designed it as a summer house in 1761 where he could enjoy the views from his farm. The building also containing a hothouse was built into this wall by John Murray, 4th Earl of Dunmore. The Pineapple has several different fruits and vegetables once grown in the Pineapple's walled garden in the vast glasshouses and pineapple pits. Visitors have always been fascinated and inspired by the Pineapple. The grounds are now a natural oasis, and you can enjoy a quiet stroll around the former curling pond and surrounding woods. The Pineapple provides free admission for visitors. |
