About | Carleton Martello Tower played a vital role in battles heading up to World War II in 1812. The tower is one of the nine surviving Martello Towers in Canada. The tower is in a circular structure with 30 feet in height and 60 feet in diameter. Visitors can experience the building through a new photo slideshow and touch table of historical objects. It offers more family fun and happens regularly throughout the summer. This tower is one of the oldest buildings in the city and designed as Canada's national historic site since 1930. While exploring the award-winning interactive exhibitions, visitors wonder at the spectacular city. |
