| About | The Geelong Art Gallery is a major regional gallery in Geelong. Members first requested it of the Geelong Progress League in 1895. In May 1900, the Geelong Art Gallery Association was granted permission to use three walls in the Geelong Town Hall to hold the artwork. Over 6,000 works of art in its collection. The gallery connects the Geelong Cultural Precinct with the adjacent Geelong Library and Heritage Centre. The Geelong Art Gallery has Australian and foreign objects, including paper, sculptures, decorative arts and sculpture. The gallery engages the community with the excellence of collection, creative lifelong learning experiences, and inspiring exhibitions.
