| About | Alexandra Park Zoo was founded in 1911 and is one of Queensland's oldest continuously operating zoos. It features exhibits with dingos, lizards, andbirds. It is entirely accredited by the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) offering positive welfare conditions and working to high standards. In the Bundaberg Zoo, One of the most famous inhabitants of the Zoo was "Torty" a Madagascan land tortoise. Torty was provided to Mr John Powe when he visited Madagascar on his way to Australia and has been a respected family member for five decades. It is one of the regions most popular attractions. Some of the animals have been donated to the Zoo by locals. |
