| About | Barron Gorge National Park is a protected area located in Cairns. It is a riverside park with dense tropical rainforests, trails leading to waterfall, and gorge views. It is part of the traditional lands of the Djabugandji Aboriginal people who have a close spiritual connection with the land. Their historic walking paths now form sections of a comprehensive network of walking trails throughout the park. Floodwaters often create a stunning view of Barron Falls during the rainy season, best experienced from Din Din Barron Falls, near Kuranda. Visit this park to see the spectacular Barron Falls and take a walk along the elevated walkway through the rainforest. Noisy pittas and the Orange-footed scrubfowl are two species that can be seen here. |
