About	St John's Church is one of the famous churches in Launceston. The church is a Gothic Revival architecture designed by John Lee Archer. It is one of the oldest surviving churches in Australia. The church is constructed beautifully with stunning stained glassed windows and stone architecture. St John's Church has faced numerous extensions and modifications throughout the years. Currently, the tower and first window pair of the nave stays original from the time of construction. It is also one of the five churches that are facing Prince's Square. The bell cast in the church was cast by Whitechapel Bell Foundry and the Bell Foundry firm from London. The Tasmanian Government’s library and archive service helped the church digitalise a large collection of documents related to the early history of St. John’s Church.
