About	St Kilian's Church is one of the historic buildings located in the heart of Bendigo. The church's warm and welcoming community defined the beautiful parish. St Kilian's Church promotes the importance and the idea of sharing, developing and celebrating a community of faith and humanity. It is also said to be one of the largest weatherboard churches in the world. The first masses were held in fledgling goldfield with a canvas tent as a venue. After a year later, a larger building replaced the older venue. In 1856, started the construction of the stone church. After years of serving, the church needed expansion and renovation; in late 1887, they planned a new design, and the new church was officially opened to celebrate masses and worships. St Kilian's Church faith education, sacramental preparation, parish renewal and ministry and outreach are the new ways to exercise this unchanging commitment to Christ and Church.
