Its mission is to be an exemplary, well-preserved, and well-presented, wooded Victorian park of international significance that provides important recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities for the public in a way that is compatible with its historic and unique character. The park hosts cultural and educational programs include the summer children’s concert series, lecture series, art exhibits, the tower grove farmers' market, and band concerts. The three playgrounds are well-maintained, safe, and fun family gathering places. Tower Grove Park offers a free public venue for three St. Louis Symphony performances each year, and the historic Music Stand hosts ten Compton Heights Concert Bands performances each summer.
