| About | Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is an art museum located in Richmond, VA, which was opened in 1936. The museum has more than 5,000 years of art from around the world. It is owned and controlled by the Commonwealth of Virginia. At the same time, individual funds, endowments, and funds are used to support various features and all acquisitions of artwork and additional general support. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has split its encyclopedic collections into many large curatorial divisions, several of which relate to galleries. It is one of the seven museums selected internationally to show and exhibit one hundred and seventy-six paintings from the personal collection of Pablo Picasso. VMFA is open 365 days a year, and general admission is always free. |
