| About | Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is a 77-hectare lush tropical land that contains over 8,000 animals spanning 600 species. The Zoo strives to foster positive lifelong connections between animals and people. You can enjoy a family experience that promotes awareness, reverence, and enjoyment of wildlife. In 1991, the Zoo opened the Tropical Forest, a five-acre indoor rainforest housing 16 primate species and more than 150 types of tropical plants. Take a journey to the islands and look at warty pigs and Philippine crocodiles. The Zoo expanded the Education Complex due to the popularity of educational programming, reaching over 400,000 guests in peak years. The Zoo is a 22,000-square-foot exhibit and offers an authentic island experience of cascading waterfalls, lakes, and elephants. AAA Members can pre-order discounted tickets valid for one year from the purchase date. Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium offers free admission for children under 24 months. |
