About	Dr. R. Brian Thoma is double board-certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. He is graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at UAB, where he cared for a multitude of patients suffering from both acute and chronic pain. Dr. Brian's practice is exclusively in Interventional and Medical Pain Management. He performs selective nerve Root Blocks procedures to treat nerve pain. He learned the latest techniques in general and regional anesthesia. Dr. Brian provides comprehensive pain care to patients in the greater Birmingham area and beyond. He has published one of the first cases of successful resuscitation with intralipid following local anesthetic toxicity.
