About	Dr. Okonkwo David O graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000. He obtained his residency from the University of Virginia and finished his fellowship at Auckland Public Hospital. He is a professor and director of the Neurotrauma Clinical Trials Center and Scoliosis and Spinal Deformity Program. He has clinical interests in traumatic injuries to the brain and spine, scoliosis, and spinal deformity. He has board certification in the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Okonkwo David O is affiliated with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Mercy, and UPMC Presbyterian. He has published over 200 papers in authored numerous book chapters, refereed journals, and earned several awards for his scientific research. Dr. Okonkwo is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the National and International Neurotrauma Societies.
