| About | Dr. Gary K. Steinberg graduated from Stanford University. He completed his residency at Stanford Univ Hosp/Santa Clara Valley Hospital. He is the founder and Co-Director of the Stanford Stroke Center, the Director of the Stanford Moyamoya Center, and the former Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery. As a cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgeon, he specializes in performing brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease, moyamoya disease, brain, and spinal AVMs and other vascular malformations, skull base tumors, stroke, meningiomas, and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Currently, he practices at Stanford Neuroscience Health Center. He has pioneered microsurgical techniques to repair certain aneurysms and intracranial vascular malformations. He is leading innovative clinical trials of stem cell therapy for stroke and spinal cord injury. Dr. Gary is affiliated with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.
