| About | North Carolina State Capitol is the former seat of the U.S. state of North Carolina legislature, which housed all of the state's government until 1888. A group of forward-thinking citizens created the state Capitol. The state capitol organization restored the building's old furniture, including all the original tables and dais. It is one of the greatest-preserved examples of Greek Revival-style architecture in a civic building. It has over 100,000 visitors participating in activities such as tours, holiday celebrations, special ceremonies, and educational programs in North Carolina State Capitol. Led tours for groups of 10 + are available via the capital area with advance notice. |
