| About | The Parthenon is a replica of the original Parthenon at Athens on a full scale. It was planned and constructed in 1897 by Confederate veteran William Crawford Smith. The originals of these important fragments are held in London's British Museum. The permanent collection of the Parthenon is a selection of 63 paintings by American artists from the 19th and 20th centuries. At almost 42 feet in height, Parthenos is the tallest indoor sculpture in the Western world. It offers a venue for a range of temporary shows and exhibitions. Discounts are available for 10 + groups and a booking made at least a week in advance. It offers free admission for babies and children under four years old. |
