About | Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site is the oldest part of the National Historic Site includes the only surviving building from the Buffalo Barracks compound. This place is one of only four locations where the Presidential oath of office was administered outside the nation's capital. The Historic Site focuses on the assassination and inauguration and details Roosevelt's life. The first part of the building is a museum showing many items from the 1901 Pan-American Exposition, including wine glasses, playing cards, plates, and the key to the Temple of Music. The last area is a recreation of Roosevelt's office during his presidency and contains an interactive desk. |
