| About | Colorado Freedom Memorial is America's first monument to recognize veterans of all wars in one location. The Memorial is made of glass representing Colorado's mountains and blue skies, at 14 feet tall and 125 feet long. The monument is surrounded by a four-acre park, allowing private and public events to commemorate those lost in battle. Freedom Memorial is developed from a collection of symbolic and representative metaphors to create a dynamic and meaningful visitor experience. First, visitors approach the starting point of the wall; a small water channel emerges from the Memorial's base. This symbolic strip of water represents the oceans and remembers their loved ones crossing to the battle on behalf of their nation. Next, visitors approach the end of the path; they enter into a large circle representing the world as a whole. Finally, they walk along the circle's perimeter and approach the Memorial wall intended to denote the divide in the world created when their country is at war. |
