About	Rock Creek Park is a 1,754-acre city park formally approved in 1890, making it the federal government's third national park to designate. It allows tourists to escape the city's bustle and find a quiet sanctuary, relaxation, fresh air, magnificent trees, wild animals, and thousands of years of recorded history. Visitors can also enjoy the planetarium programs in the park. You can take the one-half mile self-guided interpretive trail, the woodland path, which starts behind the nature center.
