| About | Powell Butte Nature Park is a family-friendly natural area located in Portland. It is one of the great places for light hiking and walking for the whole family. It consists of 611 hectares of woodland and meadowland. It covers about 20 million hectares from the Columbia River to the Klamath River and the Coast Range crest to the Cascade Range crest. There are over 9 miles (14 km) of trails to the 614-foot (187 m) summit. The park is home to many prey birds with open meadows and wild hawthorn trees. It has an interactive display screen, pipe displays, including a 90 'walk-through pipe, solar roof, Portland full-wall mural, and paved interpretive path. Mountain bicycles are allowed on the trails. |
