About | San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge is located within the South San Diego Bay, about 875 acres of free bay waters. It was established to protect endangered and threatened species; the refuge encompasses approximately 2,620 acres of land and water in and around San Diego Bay. The 316-acre reserve of salt marsh and coastal uplands surrounded by urban growth. It has over 90 percent of San Diego Bay's historic wetlands. More than 200 bird species were at the refuge. National Wildlife Refuge Complex is an administrative aggregation of two or more shelters, wildlife management areas, or other areas of refuge protection. Consolidation of environmental management areas or other regions of refuge protection. Running and biking trails are available for all to ride. Free parking with a quick ride to the center. Excellent place for children to discover and spend time learning about sea life. |
