| About | Dan Ryan Woods is a well-established hiking trail in Chicago. The park is a 257-acre forest preserve with playfields, a famous sledding hill, and a paved multi-use trail. The park has multiple parking lots right off the woods. The primary attraction of the spot is Cliff stairs. The woods have Oak and hickory trees which provide habitat for great horned owls and birds such as the eastern phoebe at the edges.
