About	Chugach State Park is one of the four biggest US state parks. It is a massive park with coastline, mountains, glaciers, lakes, camping, a ski area, and a nature center. It covers around 495,000 acres of land. It has more than 280 miles of trail. The site is full of ocean shorelines, large lakes, massive glaciers, and ice fields. The park situated on the western foothills of the Chugach Mountain chain, the park's westernmost boundary, is just 7 miles east of downtown Anchorage. The lakeside trail runs along the shores of Akutan lake for 12.7 miles (20.4 kilometers). Chugach State Park is host to a wildlife range, including large mammals such as moose and black and brown bears. Chugach State Park offers information to travelers, outdoor and interpretive activities, decks viewing, and facilities for public use.
