About	Dr. Valerie M. Harvey received her undergraduate and a medical degree from the University of Virginia. She finished her internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center and as Chief Internship. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Valerie M. Harvey is a highly trained, board-certified dermatologist with over a decade of clinical experience offering specialized patient-centered treatment for skin, hair, and nail diseases. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pigment disorders such as hyperpigmentation and melasma, as well as other skin conditions that affect minority patients disproportionately. Her research activities centered on the study of melanoma outcome disparities and the use of dermatology resources by underserved populations. She serves on numerous boards and committees for the American Academy of Dermatology and the Skin of Color Society. She is also the Secretary/Treasurer for the Virginia Dermatology Society.
