| About | Oak House is a pleasant half-timbered yeoman farmer's house. It was built around 1620 with rear brick extensions built in the 1650s as the wealth and prestige of the family grew. Oak House is a Grade II listed building, and in 1951, the house was turned into a historic house with ancient furnishings. The Oak House has an on-site children's playground available to visitors during the museum's opening hours. In addition, it has a vibrant programme of year-round events for all ages and interactive learning sessions for schools and other educational groups. Oak House offers free admission for all visitors. |
