| About | Perth Museum and Art Gallery is the main museum in Perth, the UK which is centred in the Marshall Monument. David Morison designed the Marshall Monument. The construction was started in 1822, and it was opened as the museum and library in 1824. Perth Museum and Art Gallery is one of the oldest museums established in the United Kingdom and was presented to the city by the Society in 1915. An expansion was proposed for the building after significant donations of money and artwork were bequeathed to the museum. The South Corston fragment of the Strathmore meteorite and the mummy of a woman named Ta-kr-hb are included in the museum collection.
