About | Greens Windmill and Science Centre is a restored windmill, built in the 1800s, with a show and science exploration area for children. Green’s Windmill is a restored 19th Century tower mill, once home to mathematical physicist George Green. In the footsteps of mathematical physicist George Green, the Centre has worked with light, electricity, and magnetism. He invented new mathematical methods to make many observations about things like electricity, magnetism, light, sound, and wave motion. Visitors can explore his work and accomplishments and see the windmill's unique inner workings on four floors, including the grain cleaner and grindstones. It provides picnics, wheelchair-friendly accommodation, and on-site parking. Greens Windmill and Science Centre offers free access to the museum. |
