| About | Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre is a tourist destination in Alexandra Dock. It was opened to the public in 1991. It aims to take the visitors to explore the sixty years life of trawlers and their families. The centre holds the collection of Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Immingham and the surrounding villages. There are two notable collections such as Doughty Collection and Joan Sleigh Bequest. The Doughty Collection contains history of Doughty, the artworks and ship models. The Joan Sleigh Bequest comprises of local costume and textile. Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre also hosts the temporary exhibits ranging from a mixture of travelling shows and exhibitions produced by local artists and organisations. |
