About | Captain Cook Birthplace Museum tells the tale of one of the greatest navigators and mariners in the world through thematic show galleries, temporary exhibits. The museum was opened on 28 October 1978. The service collections of the museum contain about 1,500 objects from various cultures of the world, including Australia, New Zealand and Oceania and also has a small selection of objects, including personal belongings, household items and memorabilia from the voyages, relating to James Cook and the family. The Library collections are stored outside the national collections. Captain Cook Birthplace Museum features with a cafe which provides foods, and drinks to the visitors. |
