About	Platt Fields Park is one of the most significant natural spots and the largest public park in Manchester. It boasts children’s play areas, Shakespearian gardens, rose garden, basketball courts, bowling greens, BMX/skate park and boathouse. The park has three dedicated show fields with supporting infrastructure for small scale, large scale national and local events. The lake has an island sanctuary in the middle, a lakeside visitors' centre, and a boathouse. Platt Fields Park has an adventure playground with a large and unique play area. The grounds contain Platt Hall, home to Manchester's Costume Gallery, which is open and free to the public.
