| About | Cow Tower is one of the most beloved purpose-built artillery blockhouses in England. This brick tower was built in about 1398-9 to command a strategic point in Norwich’s city defence. The circular tower is 11.2 metres across, 14.6 metres high and divided into three storeys. Managed by Norwich City Council, the tower's exterior is easily accessible on flat paths. Cow Tower features public toilets, shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs and other amenities. It's a lovely place in the small coffee shop, a very friendly cafe with homemade cakes, and a magnificent medieval artillery tower set in a beautiful setting. |
