About | Luton Town Hall is one of the historical and majestic monuments located in Luton, UK. Luton Town Hall is an iconic building located at the junction between Manchester Street, Upper George Street and George Street, Luton. The current building was constructed entirely in 1936 on the older Town Hall site, burnt down on 19 July 1919, during the Peace Day Riots. The town hall was built in the classical style with Dorian columns supporting a frieze designed by Luton architects John Williams and Sons. The town hall also offers a wide choice of venues for the arts, including The Library Theatre, a traditional 238-seat theatre, a multi-screen cinema and an entertainment centre. They also own the Hat Factory, a multi-purpose arts and media centre. Luton Borough Council manages Luton Town Hall. |
