About | Culloden Battlefield is a powerfully emotive and atmospheric battlefield where the 1745 Jacobite Rising came to a tragic end. Culloden Battlefield is the historic battle of the Duke of Cumberland and Prince Charles in the year 1746. It has audio and extensive print display information. You can see the Leanach Cottage restored in the 18th century with its stunning quenched roof. It built the battlefield itself using heather. Culloden Battlefield has explored the interactive visitor centre, seeing interesting objects from both sides of the conflict and witnessing the fight in their immersive surround cinema. The National Trust for Scotland now owns the Site. It provides members with free admission. |
