| About | St Michael's the Archangel is one of the oldest churches in Southampton. The church has strong historical roots that date back to over 950 years back. It is also listed in the Grade I buildings list. The church spire was probably first built in the fifteenth century rebuilt in 1732 and then heightened by nine feet in the 1870s at the request of Trinity House as an aid to ships coming up Southampton Water. The church has served thousands of people with religious services, masses, and prayers over the years. St Michael's the Archangel has organs, which is still used by choir group for prayers and other events. The church has a calming and pleasant environment, attracting people for weekend masses and other events.
