| About | Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral is also known as Paddy's Wigwam. The church is one of the oldest cathedral buildings. The cathedral is also listed in the Grade II list for Metropolitan buildings in the country. The cathedral was designed by Frederick Gibberd, a winner in the worldwide design competition. The construction of the new building of the cathedral began in 1962 and was completed in 1967.
