About	Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in India. The primary focus of the zoo is recreational purposes. The aim of the zoo was changed from recreation to conservation. The zoo is famous for its various bird species brought from Ethiopia and Australia. It is home to more than eighty-two species from around the world. It covers fifty acres which include woodland, lakes, and lawns. Thiruvananthapuram Zoo was established with the typical iron-barred cages prevalent at the time. Thiruvananthapuram Zoo also includes snake farms. Visitors to the zoo can also enjoy a boat ride in the lake while exploring nature's beauty.
