| About | Mahant Ghasidas Sangrahalaya is one of Raipur's most visited tourist attractions. Raja Mahant Ghasidas built the museum in 1875. The museum is a two-storeyed building later restored by Queen Jyoti Devi and her son Digvijay Das in 1953. The museum has anthropological & natural history artifacts, such as pottery & sculptures. The museum consists of a unique collection that includes weapons items, rare coins, inscriptions, paintings, and carvings. The museum also houses a natural history section and a folk art section where regular workshops are held for artisans and laymen. The museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns embellished by life sculptures. |
