| About | The Calico Museum of Textiles is managed by the Sarabhai Foundation. Initially, the museum was located in Calico Mills; as the collections increased, the museum was shifted to the Sarabhai House in Shahibaug in 1983. It displays the court textiles which are used by Mughal and provincial rulers of the 15th to 19th centuries. It also displays tie-dyed textiles and religious textiles, regional embroideries of the 19th century. The Calico Museum of Textiles plays a vital role in the curriculum taught in textile designing courses at the prestigious National Institute of Design. The Calico Museum of Textiles offers free entry for all visitors. |
