About	Bowness Park was built before the First World War in the town of Bowness as a weekend retreat for nearby Calgarians. It is a favorite spot for paddle boating in the summer and ice skating in the winter. The park is highly used for picnicking and accessing the Bow River. The park has a swimming pool, the lagoon for canoeing and boating, a large dancing pavilion, a merry-go-round, picnic tables, shelters, swings and teeter-totters, camping sites, and cabins. Bowness Park boasts bike paths, picnic tables, boating and skating on the lagoon, a wading pool, and even a mini-train. The park offers boat rentals on the lagoon.
