About | PumpHouse Museum is a history, science, and technology museum in a 19th-century pumping station with a discovery center. It is home to the original waterworks and pumping station in Kingston and hosts several exhibits each season. PumpHouse Museum is situated in one of the oldest initial waterworks in Canada, and steam-powered pumps provide the first hot water for Kingston. Throughout North America, only six equally preserved water pumping stations exist. The history follows the conditions that contributed to the development of the PumpHouse Museum as infrastructure and the way it serves as a museum. PumpHouse Museum outdoor group walking tours, indoor private children's education programs, and indoor private guided museum tours. |
