| About | The Empire Theatre building was initially opened as The McCarthy Theatre in 1938 for feature films and live performances. McCarthy closed its doors in 1962 after 24 years of service. A highly qualified design and construction team started converting the McCarthy building into the new Empire Theater and For Performing Arts Centre in 2002. In 2003 The Empire Theatre was opened featured with seven hundred seats. Stunning modern interiors and exteriors welcomed thousands of patrons to the new reality, celebrating The Empire's 15th Anniversary in 2018. The Empire Theatre showcases independent films and live performances, including music festivals. |
