| About | Oakville Lighthouse is a quaint circa-1888 in a hexagonal wooden tower located in downtown Oakville, Ontario. The tower itself measures thirty-one feet from its base to the vane on its lantern and consists of a fixed white light shown from a tubular lantern, elevated on a mast 28 feet above the lake's average level. A sixth-order lens was used in the tower's lantern room to produce a fixed white light at an elevation of thirty-nine feet above the lake. It is one of the preserved 19th-century wooden lighthouses standing on Oakville Yacht Squadron place overlooking Sixteen Mile Creek. Oakville Lighthouse is also great to see novice sailers learning their skills. |
