About | Alex Fraser Bridge, also known as the Annacis Bridge, connects Richmond and New Westminster with North Delta. The bridge is built in a cable-stayed style over the Fraser River. This bridge is named after a former Minister of Transportation. Alex Fraser Bridge is 2,525m long and 465m span, with towers built at the height of 154m. The southern end's connections lead to Blaine and White Rock, where the northern end leads into Vancouver and neighbouring cities. The bridge consists of seven lanes, three in each direction, with the middle lane acting as a counterflow lane and has a maximum speed limit of 90 km per hour, where the cyclists and pedestrians share two narrow sidewalks, one on each side. |
