About	St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica was constructed, and the first catholic service is held by the year 1827. After years of serving the community with baptism, marriage, by 1857, the first Catholic school, St. Peter's, is established. Bishop Walsh announces the plan for building a new Cathedral, and by 1881, the cornerstone was laid, and the construction was started. By 1885, the new Cathedral is opened for serving the community. St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica faced many renovations and addition of features, in which the bells are installed by the year 1958, in the new towers. By 2001, the church marked 75 years, and the church was decorated for the 75th anniversary of the Cathedral. They are a Eucharistic faith community, inspired by the Gospel, committed to engaging each person in the joy of living in the service of Christ. St. Peter's highlight features are the Cassavant organ, which still serves the visitors with mesmerizing music and stained glass windows installed by 1958.
