About | The Tamworth Powerstation Museum is the only specialised electrical museum in Australia. It was established in 1988. The attraction of every visit to the museum is the dual John Fowler steam-powered engines which are the only two of their kind internationally operating and functioning replicas of the 1888 Crompton Pattern 15 Dynamos, which are the origins of electric street lighting in Tamworth. It will not work without the assistance of the devoted volunteer team and the help of the committed sponsors. The electric showroom building has been upgraded to showcase several exclusive exhibits. |
