| About | Albany Wind Farm is one of the largest Wind farms in Australia. It is a tourist attraction with two wind power stations owned by Bright Energy Investments. The farm has 18 wind turbines, with a most generating capacity of 35.4 MW of electricity, and it was commissioned in 2001 after ten years of planning. The wind farm generates 80 per cent of the electricity requirements of Albany. The height and locality are created to maximise the exploitation of local wind conditions and consolidate the short distance to the primary electricity transmission system, making this an excellent wind farm site. Viewers can enjoy boardwalks, viewing towers, and the interpretive displays at the Albany Wind Farm. |
