| About | Adelaide Zoo is the second oldest zoo in Australia. It is operating as a non profit organization. Around 300 native and exotic species are kept in the zoo. It also has over 3,000 animals. In the second section of the South-East Asia display, known as Immersion, its most new enclosures provide tourists with the feeling of wandering across the jungle, with Sumatran tigers and orangutans virtually within sight. In 2009 the giant panda section was opened; it has two giant pandas. Adelaide Zoo provides an intimate zoo experience full of aspects of excitement, creativity, fun and surprise. Adelaide Zoo offers free entry for children aged 0 to 3. |
