About | Walsh Memorial Park in Bomaderry contains numerous memorials. The prominent memorial consists of three large rough-hewn silver-grey Moruya granite blocks grouped. The blocks symbolise the many mountain campaigns undertaken by the Army and Air Force and the mountainous seas encountered by the Navy. The memorial commemorates the service of personnel in all campaigns. In front of the monument is a sandstone forecourt, which is a reminder of the engagements in the desert. The evergreens in the gardens symbolise jungle campaigns. The memorial is flanked on either side by walls of remembrance. It was rebuilt in 1994 and rededicated on 11 November 1994. |
