| About | Alexandra Fountain is considered one of the most prominent landmarks and monuments situated in Bendigo, Victoria. The fountain is located in Bendigo's "Charing Cross", the intersection of View Street and Pall Mall. The fountain was designed by a local architect William Charles Vahland, and it stands 28 feet high and sits in a 50 feet (15 m) diameter circular pool. The fountain was named in honour of Alexandra, Princess of Wales. The Alexandra Fountain is one of the largest and most ornate municipal fountains in Victoria, and it includes lion head spouts, spouted bronzed Mer-horses and dolphins. |
