| About | Big Swamp Parkland is the Nature preserve area in South Bunbury, Western Australia. This wetland reserve features a pathway with a boardwalk along the swamp for wildlife viewing. Big Swamp is a different wetland reserve home to over 70 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and fish. It is a 2-kilometre pathway that meanders around the swamp where there are boardwalks, look-outs and a bird hide to watch and enjoy the diversity of birdlife, flora and fauna. Big Swamp is one of the favoured breeding grounds in Bunbury for the Black Swan and home to the long-necked turtle. The area is originally a winter wetland used for grazing, made for market gardens and later used as a landfill site. Big Swamp Parkland also has plenty of play equipment and a BBQ area. |
