| About | John Flynn Memorial Church is one of the most spiritual churches in Alice Springs. The Prime Minister opened the church in 1956, and its design resulted from a national architectural competition incorporating passive cooling, local and national symbolism in its design. The church laid the foundation stone of the John Flynn Memorial Church at Alice Springs. The stone and the church site was blessed by Rev. J. Gray Robertson, Convenor of the Australian Inland Mission Board. John Flynn Memorial Church recognises and celebrates the traditional owners, the Arrernte, on whose land they gather and pay their respects to their elders past, present and future. John Flynn Memorial Church is a proudly multicultural group with Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples and languages sharing in ministry together. |
